Year-end 2010 vacation..

Wassup guys?!? its the end of the year now...since our 'pengapit' is getting married (hubby's bestest fren, a MUST to go to..), we planned our year-end vacation aka shopping trip aka reunion with frens in KL....

24/12/2010, Friday :

head out from home around 8.30am...not too late from my expected time of departure at 8am (started packing about a week before =D)... pit stopped at gunung semanggol's RNR for breakfast....i can proudly say, we brought our own food : rice+boiled eggs+sambal ikan bilis...juz need to buy 'teh tarik'....since the sambal was leftovers, it gave me idea to simply cook rice n boiled eggs the night before...stopped at 2 more RNRs to change Ariana's diaper n bought lunch, we arrived at the hotel around 1pm....

after checking in, we headed to putrajaya, the nikah's event to be held at Masjid Besi...very impressing architecture with open air ambience, metal ceiling...too bad it was raining at dat time, so we couldnt take any picture outdoor....lil girl was among the spotlight as usual, roaming around the mosque ('baru dapat kaki la katakan'..)..

we stayed for the bride's reception held at a nearby hall...hubby was still not feeling very well dat night...stil recovering from a very bad fever, driving for 5hours++ some more....the ceremony was a bit delayed, so at 9.15pm hubby couldnt wait any longer, he was shivering, plus we needed to drive back to PJ which was 45mins away...oso lil cutie wont sit stil, exploring the whole venue, greeting people here n there....we went back without seeing the groom in tux =(...

25/12/2010, Saturday:

set out to OU to meet up wit my frens for lunch....we ended up being in Seoul Garden for 3 hours, bz catching up n filling our stomach wit the buffet...but somehow i felt dat i didnt chatted enuf with everyone as i was bz struggling to meet the need of my lil girl....she was actually sleepy but due to a lot of people being there, she cant concentrate to sleep, instead she became cranky....she's sleepy but wanted to play, roaming around....but cant go anywhere coz the place's crowded, of coz mommy wont let her go further....its oso hot in the OU, we cant feel the aircond due to the christmas crowd....she finally dozed off by herself, while i was holding her, thankfully without having to bf...everyone came wit partners except for one...catching up their latest stories, mostly known via blog/fb...some bz preparing for their wedding next yr...there'll b lots of my frens' wedding, feeling excited for them...so happy to see them, shud do dis again gals =)...

from OU we straight away went to i-city shah alam for a night of LED lights...trees built using LED, very nice panorama...taking pics was difficult due to the christmas crowd again...by dis time i felt like my legs are going to break...cant carry lil girl anymore (her weight is 10kg)...hubby's tired too...we didnt cover the whole park but tried our best...if the trees' are repeating, we juz ignored the section...all in all its a very good experience, except the entrance for a car is 10ringgit, a bit too much i think.... 26/12/10, Sunday :

started the day early (went to bed straight after dinner, nasi bukhara from mamak at shah alam is the best!!), packing n filling the bath tub for lil girl's bath...unfortunately she pee'd right away after entering the tub (can see the water changes to yellow..hihihi)...need to throw the water n refill again...dis i the reason we were out quite late, had breakfast at ikea...shopped for only half an hour, need to rush coz we need to check out at 12pm...'hahaha, sempat lg tu shopping'...bought only lil cutie's toys, follow the short cut to kid's section n straight down to the market hall downstairs...

after checking out, went to the wedding at Manjalara...nice, aircond-ed hall...catching up wit frens from Surrey dis time...juz realized dat in my A-level batch, i am the only one with a child...others stil njoying their singlehood =P...stayed for about 2 hours until the bride n groom arrived....took pictures n off we go to the next destination...my sis-in-law who stayed in Perak has been inviting us to her house n guess what, we never been to her house since lil cutie was born....watched futbal dat night, yahooo mesia beat up indon =D....as usual, upon meeting her cousins, lil girl wont go to sleep even tho she had been cranky since b4 maghrib...only at 10pm would she go to sleep....mummy is sooo exhausted....grandma did try to put her to sleep but ending up making her cousin bro jealous =P...'abg haris pon nak tuk anim riba n usap2 kepala jugak'...

27/12/10, Monday:
after sending my in-laws off to work, we only headed out at 9.30am....had breakfast n stopped at ipoh...to survey doorgifts at KK Home Deco, english roses-style for my sis's wedding...stumbled upon the hub of pottery shops (lots of shops selling planting pots, garden accessories, landscaping stuff etc) across the street...after comparing the prices, Kedah is certainly cheaper than Perak...but there is certainly more variety of choices here...we'll certainly be back now dat we have our own garden =D...

stopped by Taiping for cendol, saw Kuala Sepetang's signboard...heard dat its famous mee udang, hubby opened his gps n in less than half an hour, we reached our destination....ordered mee special (big prawns), with a price of RM11 only per plate, we got 6-7 big2 prawns...marvellous indeed, the service was quite fast, we hv no complains against the specialty dish here....cheaper than Sg Dua in fact...arrived home safe n sound, tired but felt really satisfied wit our trip dis time, full wit wonderful activities....

on the way back, i was dreaming to organize a trip to northern Perak...going to Bukit Merah Waterpark, Zoo Taiping, Bukit Larut/Maxwell, hv delicios mee udang, cendol, seafood....wallaaa, i got the itinerary simply for 2-3 days vacation wit family =D....hubbyku sayang, jom!!

Reminiscent of our first house...

Dis will be a nostalgic entry for me n hubby...

Sweet memories
- Our first house together...I moved in here after we got married, 1 year++ after hubby first moved in...
- Experience my first pregnancy here...all the throw ups...waking up in the middle of the night due to heartburn, went to clinic in at 2am...
- After confinement, i stayed at home, handling lil girl alone for 2 weeks...hubby would came home during lunch time juz to allow me to hv my bath n eat lunch....sometimes he had to sacrifice his lunch time...
-Uncle Kuah n family....our nice neighbor....

Bitter ones
- I vomited thru-out the living room..i was having my sickness during the first trimester....i was required to test for sugar level in blood due to dad has a history of diabetes....need to drink a glass of sugared water (quarter of sugar, 3 quarter of water)....my morning sickness 'peak-ed' around dis time, we decided to let me rest at home while waiting for 2 hours b4 the second time blood sample can be taken...as soon as we reached home, i cannot hold it any longer, as i was running to the bathroom, i vomited thru-out the journey...poor hubby had to clear everything...i manage to hold during the 2nd and 3rd time doing dis yucking test...
- Flood in the living room....washing machine pipe was not properly placed into the bathroom (hubby was cleaning the toilet the day b4)....all the boxes in store had to be thrown away due to the water they absorbed....but i did felt the cooling effect on the carpet =P...
-Too many single-and-working-living-together-in-a-rented-house neighbours (aside from Uncle Kuah)...not the right environment for lil ariana to hv no frens from the house next door....
-Uncle Kuah loooooooves to park in front of our house, sometimes blocking our way out..sigghhhh, a habit dat he never change....

I enjoyed living here albeit the bitter memories dat happened...hey, im a sentimental person, even if i dont like dat place/things, if i hv memories wit them, i'll still feel sad....anyways, im loving my new house....building new memories wit hubby n lil girl....buhbye old house.....

New house :

-Still empty-

1st birthday celebration..

Lil girl turned one-year-old on 2nd of Dec...we had juz a small, simple celebration at home...she's too young to hv an extravagant birthday to remember, atleast we had it twice...(ngeee, save money =P)...

The day b4 her birthday, grandpa n grandma on mummy's side came bringing a blueberry cheesecake....since her past experience of having diarrhoe after eating cakes, of coz she's banned from eating the cake...only had 'nenen' as her dinner, she dozed off to sleep, leaving both her parents and grandparents to enjoy the yummylicious cake...we had satay as well =)....

-birthday cake-

-cutting cake time!!-

After birthday girl slept n my parents went home, i started the mission to make trifle pudding for lil cutie's birthday....since i dont have oven to bake n birthday girl is alergic, no cake for her birthday, only delicious pudding was made...using recipes passed from generation to generation (only from mum to me...future will be to lil girl =P)....

-over excited parents-

Bottom layer is the fruit cocktail, mid layer is the jelly (dis time i used strawberry flavour)....the top layer is the custard pudding....i screw the pudding a bit..the recipe was supposed to be soft and fluffy...instead it became a bit hard and dry...so, engineering's analysis :

root cause : stirring on the stove for too long (wanted to melt the custard's flour)...too much heat causing the pudding to lose more moisture....end up being dry n keras...

corrective action : practice makes perfect! (enuf said =P)

dis is wat i do everyday at work...haha...

-the famous trifle =P-

-ariana's way of enjoying her birthday celebration-

back to the birthday girl, what did she get as presents?

-gold is a woman's treasure and investment-

-tok wan khalil n tok anim's present, chosen n bought together wit ibu n pak n lil girl (siap try lagik =P)-

-tok ayah n maktok's present, savings for future-

-paklong n maklong's lovey dovey bear-

-1 year old-

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SAYANG IBU...IBU DOAKAN ANAK IBU N PAK NI ANAK YG SOLEHAH...DENGAR CAKAP IBU N PAK...RAJIN SEMBAHYANG, RAJIN PUASA....BIJAK, CERDIK, PANDAI, BRILLIANT, CLEVER,KREATIF....HORMAT ORG TUA, HUMBLE, PANDAI JAGA HATI ORG LAIN....N ALL THE GOOD QUALITIES DAT A GOOD MUSLIMAH SHOULD HAVE....LURVE U SOOOOO MUCHHHHIEEEEEE.....*kisses n hugs*...

Home sweet home : Garden

About 2 months ago (yes, dis post is already 'basi', n its been in the draft folder for dat long), we started to work on our yard/garden....the plan is to get carpet grass for 3 quarter of the land as our garden/kids playground...another quarter will be for the orchard (nak mkn buah, petik je kat blakang tu...ngeeee)...

Started off with buying the right tools...

-Tools dat were used-

Then, bought the first batch of carpet grass...20 pcs...surveyed around the area n found the cheapest one to be the nearest to our house, save up some fuel *phewww*...A week later we bought half of a lorry of white sand....n i started to help hubby...

-I did contribute, see see, veryyyyy hard working-

In summary we've bought :

carpet grass (rm3 x 40pcs) = rm120
foxtail (rm45 x 1pcs) = rm45
white sand (rm40 x 2yards) = rm80
poison-round up (rm25 x 1bottle), mewah (rm15 x 1bottle) = rm40
soursop tree (rm10 x 1pcs) = rm10

Our next plan is to buy :

more carpet grass..atleast 100++pcs...
stepping stone (simenfero)..rm15 each, the cheapest dat i can get...
3 more foxtails...
more fruit trees : cempedak, mata kucing, mango...

future-when-we-are-rich-then-we-can-buy-but-now-can-only-dream :

pergola...with grape trees 'melilit pergola ituh'...from sliding doors towards our 'wakaf'...
wakaf...centre of the garden...
water feature (koi pond, swimming pool, water fountain, water fall etc)...not likely to be on the list...high maintenance...esp ELECTRICITY...and cleaning it...and filtering system....but i still envy others when i browse thru the mags...
gate...wooden fence all around the house...with automatic gate, no railing at bottom....

-Hubby hard working too, watering the plant twice a day, now he's darker than me muahahahahaha *wink wink*-

The result : will update the pic (there's some addition since i last took the garden pic)..

Super lazy!!

Last week was my lazy week...i mean really lazy...

Not in the mood to do work...

Not in the mood to see people to finish my work....

Not in the mood to wake up early in the morning...

Not in the mood to clean the house....

Not in the mood to blog...

Not in the mood to cook...but i manage to prepare things for cooking fried rice yesterday...dat is until lil cutie no longer interested with the tupperwares in the cabinet...n no pans can amused her oredi....she'll come crawling to mummy....daddy hungry, cannot wait anymore...daddy took over the cooking...hihihi =P

Not passionate to keep the house neat n tidy...to clean up after lil girl...but i manage to force myself to vacuum the whole house on friday afternoon (during lunch+Friday prayer break)....arrange lil girl's toys on the tv cabinet....been reading dis blog yatie chomeyl:

http://yatiechomeyl.blogspot.com/2010/11/menyediakan-persekitaran-yang-kondusif.html

good to hv lowered racks, same height as lil girl so dat she can learn to organize her toys there (stil under training)...n soo many useful tips here...

It all started with the fever during deepavali (39deg!!)...the lazyness continues for a week and a half..then the red flag finally shows up yesterday....patut la aku kemalasan pung....

Home Sweet Home : Kitchen Cabinet

My favorite area...heart of the house...is of coz the kitchen...at least to the wife n mother of the house....ive always dreamt to have two kitchens, a wet and dry kitchen...a dry kitchen like in drama series 'Friends', an open kitchen like dat where families hang out, maybe surfing for the parents and doing homework for the kids...

Luckily, my kitchen is quite small and due to no extra budget, we didnt do two kitchens...i even tot not to do the kitchen cabinet, to save up first...but hubby persuaded me to do it with the reason 'jangan komplen kat i kalo u xdak mood nk masak sbb dapur xbest'....dat means he wants me to cook more aggresively than i do now =P....so, i agreed to do it...'isteri mithali kan ikot cakap somi' *wink wink*...

There are two choices of doing the kitchen cabinet ; wood and stainless steel....if your house's history is like dis :

hutan -> kebun getah -> kebun kelapa sawit -> taman perumahan

i would suggest u do a stainless steel kitchen...y? becoz of termites...ive heard stories from my frens, they spent until 5thousand ringgit and yet the problem was still not solved...so, dont want to take the risk....plus, u can un-assemble and re-assemble your kitchen cabinet if u decided to move...no hassle of cockroach or ants going inside as it is seal tight....

then, deciding the table top....if u got a lot of money, go for granite...lower quality will be solid surface...only enuf money, go for tiles (if ur kitchen cabinet is wood) or plain stainless steel (beware! will look like kedai mamak =P )...dad sponsored our tiles....we went to the ceramic world behind carrefour, it was hugeeeeee.....very big with relaxing atmosphere (ala2 spa gitu, sape yg keja cni mesti xtensen =P)...fall in love with the tiles, total cost was about RM700....

my initial theme for the kitchen was to be an autumn-themed like i've seen on the internet...wall painted brown, doors are orange...wait a minute, ORANGE DOORS??!!? hubby disagree of coz, saying it could create misunderstandings n basically people laughing at us (soooo un-malay)...

'apa kata wat kaler hitam'
'boring la'...'ha, bleh tapi dinding nak cat 4 kaler, jalur2 melintang, from bottom red, orange, kuning n hijau'....
'mcm kaler jamaica jaaaa, u ni mengarut laaaa'
'alaaaaaa, padanla kalo ngn kabinet itam'..
'nope'..
'lawaaaa'...
'xpa, research lg'...
'uhuk uhuk'..'nk nangis dahhhh ni'...

so, after browsing the internet n mags...i finally come out the idea like dis :

all in all it was a good experience, but it was a pain ordeal to deal with the shop as the designer were quoting different things than wat we wanted...she sketched 3,4 times before we finally agreed...we just did bottom part first as dats what we can afford at the moment...the top cabinet wont be as expensive coz theres no table top or drawers to add...we did asked for the quotation if using wood but with all the drawers, glass doors n table top, the price was still more or less the same....total cost is about RM7k....

Super bz!!

I've been very bz for the past few weeks after raya....dat explains y my raya entry come out only after syawal has ended =P...

some updates:

- my enzcema is getting worse...two of my fingers are dry...went to see panel clinic, the medicines given has no effect (particularly becoz i didnt follow the instructions thoroughly, need to apply 3 times a day, due to bz-ness i only applied once in awhile)....dis calls for KPJ!! (i need a cream dat can be applied once and miraculously can work straight away =P)...wonder whether hubby's kilang can cover the expenses....

- i owe my blog 2 posts regarding home sweet home...want to write about my kitchen cabinet and reminiscing my old house...now i've been thinking of writing my wishlist (in particular, my dream garden complete with swimming pool, koi pool, gazebo, pergola, wooden swing, wooden fence....haisyhh, over stretched? yes, dats y its a dream)..

- on 2/10/20, lil girl was 10 months-old....only 2 months to go...my next project is to plan for her birthday...the event will b a 3-in-1 : housewarming aka doa selamat masuk rumah baru/1st birthday/aqiqah...dreaming to do bbq lamb =P....

- lil cutie will be one year old in december, does dis mean i can get pregnant next year? ooppsss..

- my next next project is being a room decorator for my sis's wedding...haihh, still think dat she's a kid, yet she's getting married next year...she'll be in her final univ year by then...im praying the best for her...so, ive been googling all the latest trends, english style, brown and pink (possible theme)...dis will be my gift to her..

- im getting fatter...damn, even fasting cant help....my new diet regime : no carbs at night...more fruit...more vege? nope, im not a vege lover...

- lil girl had diarrhoea plus vomiting last couple of weeks...poor her, she didnt gain any weight for 2 months...refusing to drink milk from bottle whenever i was around...luckily it only lasted for 1 weekend....she is now fully recovered n can stand up by her own now...maybe next month she can walk her first step, who knows right??!

- wants to start a biznes...do i have the talent??

Dari Bapakmuuuuu untuk anakkuuuu....

10 Peraturan Kalau nak kuar Dating...

Tapi, sekali ko dah couple ngan anak aku, ko jangan pandai2 cari pompuan lain sampai la anak aku dah bosan ngan ko atau dia break-off ngan ko. Kalo ko wat anak aku nangis, aku pulak akan wat ko nangis.

Peraturan 7: Sementara ko menunggu anak aku bersiap, jangan dok mengeluh kalo dia bersiap lama sangat.

Peraturan 9: Jangan sekali-kali menipu aku. Selalunya aku dok menembak khinzir kat situ. Kalo aku tembak kepala ko kat belakang tu, takde sapa yang nak tanye. Jangan main2 ngan aku.

Peraturan 10: Ko patut takut ngan aku ni..kalo boleh biar sampai sangat2 takut. Aku ni dok teringat2 lagi peristiwa bukit kepong. Sampai skang kalo ada orang datang umah senyap2 pastu dok berbual kat laman aku nak tembak..aku ingatkan komunis. Nanti dah abih dating, sampai kat pintu pagar, bukak pintu kereta dan angkat dua2 tangan ko tinggi2. Cakap dengan jelas “saya datang antar anak pakcik”. Pastu terus blah. Tak payah masuk minum teh. Kilauan matahari yang ko nampak kat tingkap umah aku ni ialah teropong senapang sniper aku.

Sekian, Yg ditakuti,Bapak Kepada Gf ko

Raya Aidilfitri 2010

Wednesday, 8/9/2010 :

Went back early at 3pm...so b4 lil girl's back from skul, i had time from 3-6pm, which means only 3 hours...one hour for packing, one hour for ironing lil girl's raya outfits, one hour to clean up the house....also including half an hour of pumping milk, zohor and asar prayers, evening bath time....imagine how rushing i was...funny thing was, hubby went back early as well to do the tyre balancing and alignment...but upon reaching home, he saw me watching karate kid jackie chan version (while i was pumping milk)...he quietly lay down on the couch, watch the movie and did fall asleep for awhile (before he reached home, he mentioned wanting to go to the tyre shop straight away)...he finally went after the movie ended...the movie was nothing out of the ordinary (equals to boring), its a kids movie anyways....So, anyhow, i managed to do most of the packing, usually i have a list of the things to pack whenever we need to go for vacations, dis time around i had to pack for 5 days, which was alot for us...

Thursday, 16/9/2010 :

Off we go to KL...headed out at around 10am...luckily 95% of the packing was ready the day before, so just need to grab toiletries, lil girl's milk, hot water...convoy with my family, hubby stopped once at Tapah, dad stopped a few times coz he was sooo sleepy, mom ended up driving half of the journey....as usual, mom oso 'kidnapped' ariana half way (but she slept the entire journey)...sad thing is while we were in tapah, lil girl got bitten by some ants, mummy's fault, sorry dear...

Reached the homestay condo at around 3pm....headed to IKEA (plan for soooo long ady)...bought a shoe cabinet (which i can use as my files cabinet)...break our fast at McD, this is nearest place dat we can find since we arrived there around 5.30pm...enuf time only for IKEA-shopping....

Went to mak itam 's house, the first house we go to for raya (we called her mak itam becoz there's a mole on her nose, she is actually quite fair)...tot to go to Jalan Tunku Abd Rahman later dat night....but due to parking difficulty and lotsa people, we cancelled the plan...we needed to save our energy in order for us to go to alot of houses tomorrow...

Friday, 10/9/10 :

Everybody went to the Raya prayer except me n ariana of coz...we waited in the car, around 15min later, hubby showed up by the car...'aikk, cepatnya abih sembahyang raya?'..'kena semb kat tangga'...we were late dat morning, arrived at the mosque around 8.45am, there were alot of people (even in KL!)...5mins later, dad appeared too...so we waited for mum n sis till they finish the khutbah...

our journey : Gurney -> Ulu Kelang -> Keramat -> Hulu Langat -> Salak Tinggi -> Gurney

a tentatively full day wit a lot of food...learning my lesson from previous experience i.e. to avoid diarrhorea and stomachache, i eat only little...trying to keep to only 4 meals a day (of coz only trying, i think i tasted the food in every house)...had dinner with a takeaway KFC, bought by hubby's bestfren =)...

Saturday, 11/9/10 :

Went to Kampung Baru, where my dad stayed with his uncle after his mom died....he had alot of memories here...including courting my mom when she was working in KL *wink wink*...the uncle died when i was in school, his wife is still alive with very little memory left...my granduncle was an UMNO fighter long time ago, we called him tok raden/tok janggut....later we had our brunch at my aunt's house in Ulu Kelang before heading to Alor Setar...

Sunday, 12/9/10 :

Had family photo session...the main obstacle was to get the kids to gather...see, one way to keep them quiet is to let them play the PS2...if not, they would start making a mess in the house, wrestling here and there....their grannies would have such a headache dat the only solution is juz to let them play the video games....however, sometimes they would come out crying and fighting who gets to play the game...there are 6 kids, one TV and one playstation...then, my BIL brought back his old TV....so there are two TV and two playstation, do u think dats still enuf? naaahhhhhh, until they each has their own, then they would come out crying, nobody wanna play wit me...aahh, kids, no ending with them....so to pull them for awhile from playing games, their parents had to offer toys and new games....wonder how will my lil girl be? not much different i think...

just when our big families were ready, suddenly hubby realized dat the remote battery had finished....everybody was so disappointed dat my first BIL gave us the instruction not to start eating until they get back from buying new batteries....so the lil ones get back to their games, and older ones, not being able to resist hunger, quickly went to have itik golek with ketupat palas (our raya official raya dish)...carefully not to dirty our clothes, everybody went back to their original position in no time when hubby and BIL arrived....

later we went to another two houses, had a tour around jitra, reminiscing hubby's old house...the kids were fighting to get into hubby's car....not sure wat's so interesting about the car...maybe the spacious look dat it has....so, ariana n me had to go into BIL's car...

Monday, 13/9/10 :

Last day of our balik kampung trip...had a bit of drama in the morning...went to KMC to see the paed...luckily it was 'false alarm'....all raya project had to cancel (wanted to visit some frens)....went back to Kulim after dinner as I had to work on the next day...

Thursday, 16/9/10 :

My one and only lil sis got engaged to a Keramat guy....while sis was being make-up upstairs, the other star of the day was of coz my cutie lil one...everybody upon arrival would look for her, wanting to hug her and take photograph wit her...hmm, if only i can make money out of it =P....all the while balik kampung and engagement ceremony, she was being soooooo nice, not cranky at all....

Then, hubby and me had to take over the dishes for awhile...washing the plates, fork and spoon...mom take the catering food, they provide everything except people to wash the dishes....we took turns with my cousin and her mom....dis is the reason we were so tired dat day...anyhow, the ceremony was a success wit hubby being the photographer...

p/s : i know raya stories are 'basi' ady...been super bz for the past few weeks after coming back from raya....but i know ill still enjoy whenever i read dis post...=)

Bags..bags..bags..

Diaper bag or large hand bag dat I can stuff with my little girls things ? Aarrgghhhh, cannot make up my mind...next week is raya and I juz tot of how am I going to carry around :

1) Diapers
2) Wipes
3) Milk powder
4) Bottle
5) Hot water thermos
6) Plain water
7) Napkin
8) A pair of clothes (for emergency use)
9) Porridge (if i have time to make it)

I've been using hubby's back pack for travel due to the reason so dat he's not embarrased to carry it around...or is it becoz i never care to buy one...hihihi...but since its raya time, i WOULD LOVE to carry one decent bag to stuff in all the baby's accessories...so, either a large handbag so dat i can still wear it when the lil girl is big....or a diaper bag dat i can continue using for lil girls' sisters and brothers in the future, for maybe the next 10 years (ive been dreaming to get 4 kids, each with a 3years gap...hehehee....bolehkah ayang?)....

Just a few minutes ago i was googling for diaper bags when i stumbled upon some great designer diaper bags...looks cool n hip, not the typical cartoon-themed bags...huhuhu, mostly from US or Aussie...maybe anybody want to give me as a gift? =P

Meanwhile, can anybody help me to decide?? huuuuuuuuuuuuu.............

Home Sweet Home : Curtain and Tinted Windows

Spent quite alot for this item as there are a lot of windows in dis end lot house...I have single panel window,2-panel window, 4-panel window, sliding door, window at the corner and outdoor blind at the back of the house...lets recap :

- after calculating the total bill, it was quite expensive, near to RM3000..so i decided to cut a few things...

- no new curtain for bedroom 2 and 3...will recycle the old one (may not fit nicely but as long as can cover the window, its fine with me)...

- sliding door and 4 panel window (in the living room) was supposed to have day and night curtain....i cancelled the day curtains (from lace material), will recycle the old one...proceed with the night curtains (the thick one dat blocks any light from entering the room, so at night people cannot see inside)..

- wanted to change from outdoor bamboo blind to simple venetian blind but couldnt make it...they already ordered the material...hihihi, they know i keep changing my mind to cut cost here and there...the blind itself cost me RM400...huhu..

- did roman blind for single panel window....couldnt decide at first whether to do simple curtain or roman blind...to go for cheaper or not...roman blinds are only expensive in the beginning due to the rods...

- i can actually ask help from both mums as they have the sewing machine and more time to sew the curtains...however, for the first time, its better to have professionals to do it so dat we can have nice measurements for future reference...

- tinted my master bedroom and bedroom 2 so dat we can change our clothes during the day without having to lower down the curtain...no extra money to tinted the whole house....

- all in all, it was an interesting experience...having to calculate what will fit our budget..arguing to get lower prices...the owner of the shop is a chinese but he spoke fluent malay so i was confused at first...he's from alor setar, so no wonder he can speak malay well....he loves to smile but quite stingy =P....his customer service is tip top...would recommend to anyone....

Home Sweet Home : Grill for security

And for beauty of the house....first choice would be using wrought iron for the whole house...we surveyed at two shops...one suggested us not to use wrought iron considering the current not-so-good economy....tot what a nice guy to prevent us from spending a lot of money....another one was recommended by my bro-in-law....his grill was from the shop, run by a pair of husband and wife...the husband does all the work, the wife takes care of accounting, basically money stuff....wat a good team work...the shop was a family business on the wife side...they are both good people, friendly and good customer service..would recommend to anyone...the husband is a very talkative too...

So we took the second contractor....A siamese husband and chinese wife...they really love to see Ariana but never offer to carry her....would always say 'sui oo sui, mcm cina'....sui stands for pretty in hokkien i think...another word i always hear is 'pet pet' which stands for white....i think or maybe i switched the meaning, dont quite remember...see, i dunno how to react when people complement my doter....i can juz smile...then say, 'tok dia cina..sbb tu la'....sometimes i'll hear people talk about her behind my back or from afar....there can be sometimes dat i dont entertain them, juz do my blank face n walk away...too much attention is also not good, can attract unwanted people, kidnapping cases etc...

Back to the grill, since my bro-in-law suggested dis contractor....we used his name to get some discounts...well, according to the lady, she's quite generous in lowing down some of the price...so, we end-up doing only wrought iron at the front of the house...the rest are just simple horizontal grill in brown colour....

The wrought iron has some flowers and leaves, so we requested the colour of the flower to be red and leaves to be green....after the grill was completed, we tot its a bit too much flowery, not a simple one...but after awhile, i think its just nice, not too much n not so simple...the total is actually quite expensive due to the number of windows dat we have...its a corner lot, so, there's additional window at the side of the house...dis makes me think everytime we pass by a house with a lot of windows, we would say 'huissyy, byknya tingkap, abih la grill kena wat byk, huhu'...luckily we didnt buy a bungalow....

Home Sweet Home : Wiring

This is a very interesting experience for me n hubby...i budgeted two thousand ringgit for wiring work....of coz the real cost exceeds the budget, but not too much due to reasons i'll story below....so the chronology goes :

- we surveyed for 2 contractors...we picked the one dat is not so cheap but becoz they have the experience of doing wiring work in new housing projects, and the good advise they offer....

- its a father-son business..initially hubby talked wit the father, 'dua kupang pon xmo kurang'....so, fine, we accepted the quotation after discussions...wanted to do auto-gate wiring, wired doorbell, audio surround system, exhaust fan, additional power points, astro wiring, streamyx, extra lightings....

- we cut down the auto-gate wiring as it was quite expensive....not gonna do the auto-gate yet, so dat one postponed...

- hubby said im the 'kedekut taik idung masin', wanting things with high quality but at cheap prices....i would bargain and bargain with people, pushing to their limit...sometimes it works, sometimes it just fails =P....the opposite with hubby, he wanted high quality n willing to spend extra so he would scold me saying if i want quality stuff, dont bargain dat much or they'll do 'cincai2' for us...so, i slowed down a bit on the bargaining...during finalization, we discussed with the son....before we left, being the stubborn me, i asked for 100++ringgit less...n he agreed! wow, really didnt expect dat...seriously with the father, he wont cut even 10ringgit....

- the son promised it will be a 3-4days job, not too difficult...all dat we asked for can be done...well, what he promised is not so true after all...

- it all started right from the first day of work...we werent there to supervise as we were in Alor Setar...so, we left the key with the son so dat they can start work on the Saturday....at about 9am++, hubby received a call from the wireman (the father n son only manage, they hired other people to do the job), angrily told hubby dat there's a beam blocking the wiring from the fusebox to the kitchen and bedroom 3...he suggested us to do plaster ceiling to conceal the wiring....'wahhh, mandai2 ja nk suh org wat tu, wat ni'....later, after a few phone calls here n there, we asked the wireman to do the wiring along the beam, dont hv to use the pvc pipe to contain the wiring...if they were to use the pvc pipe, they need to hack the beam which is not advisable as it might interfere with the house's structure...

- Sunday : not working....another day wasted...

- Monday : went to visit them during lunch time.....not there...called their boss, said the wireman was sick, not able to work....half day gone....

- Tuesday : not there oso...called their boss again, wireman was hospitalized...by dis time we were wondering...there are 2 wiremen, if one cannot come, another one should be able to continue working...but noooooooo, 'dua2 pon tarak mai'...'kembaq siam kot, xleh nk berpisah'....

- Wednesday : the first time we ever saw their faces....burning inside, but pretending to be cool on the outside...asked the wireman how's he doing, are they alright...in actual fact, not the wireman but his wife was hospitalized..so they continue working...said can be finished today....with less than 50% progress, of coz they didnt make it...some arguments about the exhaust fan (we were supposed to make a hole for them but the boss forgot to tell us, so they hv to make it)...arguments about wired doorbell (they were complaining about how difficult to do it, so cancelled, instead will use wireless one)...arguments about speaker wiring (need to extend the route as the beam was interfering, cancelled too)...arguments about some other things (boss forgot to mention to wireman)...

- Thursday : continue working..continue arguing oso...a few phone calls here n there...still not finish...they will resume next week to install the fans and lightings as well...aarrgghh!!!!

- Following Tuesday : install the fans and lightings and the power points....wanted to switch the colour of the plugs but 4-5 times more expensive than the normal ones, so hold on that first...we bought the fans and light separately....

- Wednesday : went to pay after being satisfied with the work done....of coz due to all the troubles of not making it on time, what we wanted cannot be done...arguements some more...so, the son gave us discounts...in fact, he didnt charge us for the fans and lights installation cost....pheewwwww, can save some more money....

All in all, would we recommend dis contractor? their workmanship is not bad but their time management and attitude is certainly untolerable....dont think so...maybe just our bad luck, wrong timing for his wife to be sick....maybe we didnt discuss properly with the boss on what can be done, what is not advisable by looking at the house....my advise, bring ur wireman to the house so dat he can give comments in case some of the things cant be done, example : the location of the beam....

Home Sweet Home : Construction work/Painting/Piping

So, i'll start writing about our first house...searched and bought together-gether with my hubby =)....

First work to be done is of course repairing the house...leaking roofs, add some cement at the porch and at the back of the house...we hired an indonesian contractor to get the work done...at first, we were not too sure how's the quality would be....but now, after everything has finished...we can affirmly introduce him to somebody else....

I've mentioned in my previous post dat there is one uninvited guest in the house....it's actually a problem of BATS!! the house was in very terrible condition becoz of these bats...there were some holes in the roof and ceiling (due to a storm dat hits Kulim last year), so, the bats were able to get into the house for shelter....unfortunately, some of them couldn't find the way out so there were a lot of bat's death in the house.....hence, the solution was to cover the holes in the roof, clean all the dead bats, the 'sisa buangan' in the ceiling...and voila, u get a new house....

The contractor also did some piping work and painting the walls....initially, to save some of the cost, we planned to paint the walls by ourselves....as the renovation goes by, hubby asked them to finish painting the whole house....although it means extra money, it would save us some time and energy which both we dont hv if we plan to move b4 ramadhan...also, there's an additional little girl to take care =)...

Sneak peeks of the after work :

Happy Ramadhan!!

Hubby, myself and little girl would like to wish all a happy Ramadhan!!

p/s : today's first 'sahur' is a success as little girl is in a very deep sleep...=)

Officially moved out!!

Date : 8/8/2010
Day : Sunday
Event : Moved to new house

On last Sunday we officially moved to the new house (not so new, 5 years left vacant)...Alhamdulillah, thanks to Allah Almighty, at the age of 25 years old, I currently own a car, half of the house, a husband and one child....A lot had happened within these few days....by alot i mean ALOT!!

Let's recap :

- Thursday night, 9.30pm : my water meter was stolen...leaving a water fountain, shooting into the sky...huhu, 200ringgit gone....hubby brought his family to visit the house earlier dat evening...they left the house at around 7.30pm...so there's a window of only 2 hours....sigh, 'xde rezeki'....my neighbours suspected it was non-muslim, from maybe another nearby residential area as they've seen these people lingering at the playground in front of my house at nights, sometimes dating, sometimes just 'lepaking'...also, there's a surau (an active one) right in front of the house, a muslim would know dat around 9-9.30pm, people are still praying, so, there are people around...nevertheless, they managed to run away wit only one leg of the meter, didnt hv time to take the other one as people were emerging from the surau, after isyak....'hikmahnya: habih kenai satu taman mai dok tany pasaipa air dok memancut..smpikan cita org minyak pon kluaq =P'..we waited until 1am, what a memory..

- Friday morning, 9am : hubby went to the police station to lodge a police report on the stolen water meter..if i went along, it would be my first experience....

- Saturday morning, 9am : locked outside the house....we were going out to hv breakfast when the lorry driver called asking for directions to the house...then we realized we didnt bring the right keys out...sooo many keys, with soo many locks...sigh, had to break the door knob...

- Saturday morning, 11am : i lost my camera for awhile....suspected a bangladeshi had taken it but luckily he returned upon hearing my brother-in-law wanted to report to the police...of coz not directly return it, put an act of trying to find the camera in boxes scattered around the house...we already tot he had ran away...

- Sunday afternoon, 2pm : my beloved citra had its first accident...scratched against the gate....aarrgghhh, another few hundreds gone....luckily the owner himself did it =P...cant blame him though, we've had a few rough weeks....

think dats it....will update if i remember more...luckily we had help from both families to take care of Ariana....in-laws on Saturday and my mom on Sunday...kudos to all of them...

p/s : to anybody reading dis, jemput2 la datang rumah baru ye....walopon rumah xkemas sepenuhnya lagi, jgn segan jgn malu....=D

Rona Roni - My other babies

when i was in the UK, i loved to watch the Malay version of Cindarella series shown at TV3, acted by Bront Palarae, Sharifah Amani and Remy Ishak...love to see them acting, the script was fantastic (eventho mengarut2), sadly no more sequel for dat show....later they make another series featuring Bront and Amani for Astro....Rona Roni Makaroni....hmm, nothing exciting actually, another typical Malay series.....but the names was quite easy to catch, Rona and Roni...

around dis time my fiancee (hubby now) bought two hamsters as his companions in his 'rumah bujang'....see, hubby loves animals, not afraid of them...especially snakes...why? simply becoz i hate and scared and 'geli' of snakes...he very much lurrvveeeeddddddd to have one as a pet...anyways, he bought a pair of hamsters (each male and female) so dat there will be something alive and breathing in the house other than him....he bought a cage, a 'roda' so dat they can play and 'pusing2'....he asked me what to name them...guess what, since the show was airing at astro back then, i decided to name them rona and roni...which one is which, no idea =P...we didnt even know how to check the sex at dat time....i was actually unpleased with the idea of hamsters...they can grow very big until they look like mouse/rats/guinea pigs, hehehe, im a bit 'geli'...luckily hubby bought the small ones, of robovsky species which will never grow big but also the not-so-manja type...

until about a month or two later, we went dating on a Saturday, then he returned home only to find his pets were missing....he searched hi and lo for them but nowhere to be found in the house.....suspected it was the cat who ate them...stray cats (or maybe somebody else's cat..dunno, dun care) can enter the house as hubby used to open the sliding door at the master bedroom upstairs and leave it open to air the room....he was so sad by the incident and didnt buy any replacement...even i didnt hv the chance to meet them....see, my mum was afraid and 'geli' with rats and all the species including hamsters...so, when my mum found out about the missing rats, she was so glad n at the same time warned me she wouldnt come to our house if there are hamsters there....fuhhh, 'lega'...for awhile...

later on, when i was pregnant for 5-6 months, suddenly hubby is very interested to buy hamsters again...altho actually im oso 'geli' with them, hubby was so persistent dat i end up 'mengalah'....of coz with some conditions, only the robovsky type and only one pair.....i was so scared dat they would breed a lot more hamsters dat i set another rule, to give away the children or even sell them back to the pet shop...then come another problem, my mom...since she has warned me b4, so every time they come to my house, i would hid the poor creature in the stor (actually a room downstairs, not so small space)....sometimes we just forgot to hide them, so i would pray very hard my parents wont notice....or covered them with a blanket....hahahaha =P........so we manage to hide their existence for some time....by then both my parents had been wondering wat is underneath the blanket, is it an aquarium? is it empy? is there fish? hmm.....

after Ariana was born, my parents regularly come to our house until one day, when we're back from our trip to Kelantan.....my family stop by my house to perform prayers....I quickly grab a blanket to cover them....so, I went upstairs to pray...after finished my prayers, hubby asked me did my parents noticed it...i said not a chance...my brother upon hearing dat, he said 'tadi ayah baru ja bukak selak...trus ayah habaq kat mak, bukan ikan la, tikus...' gulp, oo ohh...'matila aku mak xmo mai dah'......luckily coz of her beloved granddaughter, mom still come to our house...'mana bleh xmai jumpa cucu'....power of Ariana is sooo tempting.....she'll try not to bother about the hamsters, not to look and pretend they werent there....she asked me to get rid of them due to concern on Ariana's well being but I assured her Ariana is well taken care of....we would wash our hands before touching Ariana and put her away from the aquarium.....so, rona and roni and their children and their grandchildren are safe.....at least for now =P....

some how when i gave birth to Ariana, rona or roni gave birth too...and another a few weeks after dat.....and another.....i think its the season, the 'mengawan season' coz now they've stopped....do u know dat hamsters ate their children if the child is sick or unfit to survive till grown up? hmm, dont know whether its true or not but we do find some of the children missing even when the aquarium is shut....up till now, with a few deaths, and a few births, we have a total of eight...or nine...or ten hamsters....hihihihi, i forgot how many of them they are....

Ariana's first accident

Date : 19/7/2010
Time : 8.00pm++
Venue : Master Bedroom
Event : Anak aku jatuh katil....uwaaaaaa...!!

I was having my bath, hubby was downstairs, he had migraine, so I took Ariana to bed to get her to sleep so dat she wont 'kacau' her dad....she was already sleepy at dis time...usually she wont be crawling around when she's on the bed...she'll just play with her toy, licking and sucking it...maybe she's growing up, getting more 'lasak' as the day goes by...since she didnt want to breastfeed, i just let her play on the bed by herself while i get freshened up...at dis time i put her in the centre of the bed....i didnt lock the bathroom door, leave the door open a bit so dat i can stil 'intai' her in case anything happen....

After awhile, i can see dat she's getting nearer to the side of the bed...i tot dat after i finish my shower, i can still make it to move her to the centre of the bed (also i was not wearing my glasses so i cannot estimate accurately how near she was to the side of the bed)...how badly wrong was i...after a few minutes, she was already hanging by the side of the bed, moments away from falling down 'menyembah bumi'....it was a very horrific moment...i quickly dash towards her, unfortunately i was 1 sec slower...she had already fell like a 'nangka busuk' =P (quote from her dad)......

Upon hearing his wife screaming in horror, hubby quickly went upstairs but he too was a few secs slower than Ariana....here comes another horrifying moments....we expect Ariana to be crying loudly in pain..however, she was so shock dat she let out a few screams then she started to cry silently until she finishes her breath....hubby pat at her back but stil silent...afraid she might had a seizure, hubby put his finger into her mouth...then, gladly she starts to scream again...alhamdulillah, i was so worried and panic dat i kept asking hubby 'muka dia biru ka?? dia da jd biru ka?? jom jumpa doktor! dia nmpk mcm biru2 tu..' luckily her face was only red with the part being blue black was the 'benjol' on her forehead...she fell down head first...after awhile being held by her mum, Ariana slowly regain her smile...and when daddy starts to play with her, she starts to laugh again...just a bit of crying, quickly apply 'minyak Nona roguy kegemaranku'....'anak ibu kuat kan?? =)'

So we end up did not went to any clinic or doctor was we felt it was not necessary...children fell down from the bed is quite common accident at home..only have to watch out for a few symptoms :

1. VOMIT!! (serious symptom dat shows concussion/gegaran otak..straight to hospital)
2. Face/body turning blue
3. Crying for a long time
4. Seizure
5. Not active

Since Ariana is quite ok, only 'memerap' a bit so we just continue to watch her dat night and the following day...my factory's nurse said to apply some ice on the bruise to avoid the blueblack (dats the 'pendarahan di bawah kulit')...i had mixed feeling on dis event...quarter of me had expected/waiting for dis to happen at any time while her growing up...quarter of me felt really guilty of not moving her earlier...quarter of me just blank, panic and shock....and the final quarter of me felt really pity for her dat i wanted to cry but no tears would come out...

Lesson learnt (the hard way) : not to leave Ariana alone on the bed unattended anymore...sayang anak ibu tau!!

p/s : matila aku ngn maktuk, tuk ayah, tuk anim n tuk wan khalil....konpem2 aku kena marah punya sebab xmo sendal ariana ngn bantal properly...aku dah sendal ngn bantal kecik dia tp dia tolak ngn senang nya...huhuuhuh...Ariana ohh Ariana....at the time of writing, semua tok tidak tahu menahu lg...so bila post ni dipublish means tok2 sekalian dah tau...bersediala ibu ariana....

Home Sweet Home

Above pics - house renovation in progress..

Hmm, where do I start....I know its a bit sudden..we were browsing and searching for some interesting house to buy...mainly aim for semi-d or corner lot with just a single storey...we want some land for ariana to play....see, me n hubby grew up in bungalows...we had plenty of spaces to run, play, even cycling....so, now both parents have moved out (govt quarters, so of coz u have to move out when u hv retired =D)...i think the biggest motivation for us to start looking was becoz i started to work nearby....we were searching around the area n finally stumbled upon a nice end lot single storey terrace which coincidentally had a 10% discount...the house had already been completed 2 years ago but nobody purchase it....so, alhamdulillah, it was our 'rezeki'....

Crucial things to do :

- Grill : Important to protect the house...wishlist : wrought iron grill

- Wiring : Additional power points, lighting, heater point, aircond point...wishlist lots of power point..

- Curtain : corner lot comes with a lot of windows...wishlist : roman blind..

- Kitchen : lotssssssssssss of wishlist....people say its the heart of the house...wishlist : kitchen cabinet, wet n dry kitchen, breakfast counter....unfortunately not much space at the back to do extension...also kitchen area is not big enuf to put a breakfast counter...so, we can lavish on the kitchen cabinet..

- Renovation : the house had its occupants b4 we bought the house...unpaid ones...so had to chase them first...repair the roof, ceiling...cement some places....piping work also done by the same contractor...

- Interior deco : wish we can hire one ID....but....not enuf EPF money la =P....

will keep posting more updates...tata...
